Rough Collie Bitches
Firstly, I would just like to say a massive thank you to the Committee for inviting me to Judge the Rough Collie Bitches, BOB Rough Collie Puppy, BOB Rough Junior, BOB Rough Veteran and BIS Veteran and BIS Working, it was a total honour and hospitality was second to none, all exhibitors were very sporting and gracious with their grading’s, presentation was excellent and in general I found the Rough Collie Bitches to be of excellent quality, a few were lacking in underjaw but overall a lovely entry. Below I have written my findings of my main winners.
BABY PUPPY – 5- 7 MONTHS
This class was full of promising puppies but 1st place could not be denied to the beautifully clear silver blue MARCOL LUNA DI BLU who excelled in movement and type, very promising puppy who has it all there, excellent outline with a lovely moulded foreface, oblique inquisitive eye, good parallel head planes, ears well set but slightly heavy which I would hope will improve once she is through the teething stage, lovely length of neck, good length of back and tail, beautifully presented and will be one to watch in the future HP1
Closely behind and looking at the catalogue can see is litter sister to 1, MARCOL CHIARO DI LUNA another very promising puppy who again has the excellent body and movement I was looking for and has a very promising future, just a little raw at this age compared to her litter sister HP2
SAMUWAYS EASY TO LOVE – HP3
SCOTTAIL WITH LOVE – HP4
PUPPY – 7-9 MONTHS
1st place could not be denied to this star of a puppy, SKABONA KNOCKIN ON HEAVEN’S DOOR, clear silver blue with a fabulous head pattern, lovely moulded foreface, excellent underjaw, correctly placed stop, beautiful oblique eye shape, good backskull, beautifully tipped ears correctly positioned, lovely length of neck, good chest for one so young, well placed shoulders and good length of upper arm giving the correct front angulation, good ribs and loin, lovely length of back, well set tail of good length, lovely rear angulation giving good bend of stifle and lovely strong hocks, powered around the ring for one so young with fantastic correct movement, HP1 and BOB PUPPY, was thrilled that she had not tired and carried on to win BEST PUPPY IN SHOW against a very nice Smooth Collie Puppy. I will watch this puppy’s career with interest as she has all the quality for a very exciting future.
2nd MERRY MOONRAY’S AMARILLO STARLIGHT – HP2
3rd HEIDELIND’S GUESS AT KANGASVUOKON – HP3
4th SNOWFLAKE OF KINGLY SHINE – HP4
JUNIOR
1st SUNWIND’S PERFECTLY BLU and she is! Stunning silver blue colour with well broken blue merle markings, lovely head, good underjaw, lovely eye shape, good backskull, well positioned ears, lovely length of neck, well placed shoulders, lovely chest, lovely length with nice rise over loin and well set tail of good length, lovely movement in her class and for the BOB challenge against the Junior Dog, was very close to including her in the final 4 for Best Bitch but would prefer a bit more maturity to her as she needs to let down in the hock joint for more definition which will come, a wonderful bitch full of promise for the future top drawer, EXC CQ. In the Junior Challenge against the Rough Dog, I found I preferred the expression of this young lady and preferred her forward reach on the move and was pleased to award her BOB JUNIOR, she seemed a bit tired in the challenge for the Best in Show Junior against the very impressive Blue Smooth Collie, RBJIS

CHAMPION
1st CH IMPRESS ME FANTAZIJA – lives up to her name as she definitely did impress me! It is no easy task to breed a well balanced rough collie with the correct silver blue merle that is required but this kennel excels in their achievements, this bitch stood out from the crowd, groomed to perfection she has a nice head with lovely underjaw, stop breaks slightly low, her ear carriage is excellent, lovely length of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, good length of back and tail, excellent front and rear angulation and well let down hocks that powered her round the ring with drive, EXC 1CQ BB2
