Shandlmain Collies – Puppies

At Shandlmain Collies we breed occasionally for new Show Prospect puppies for ourselves and to carry on the lines we already have here at Shandlmain.  All our Puppies are whelped in the house. We take it in turns to sleep in the with Dam and Puppies for the first three weeks of new puppies lives, to be there in case we are needed.  

All puppies are wormed from 2 weeks of age and regularly thereafter, puppies are DNA tested for CEA/PRA at approx 10 weeks of age along with MDR1, DM & CN DNA test, puppies are Vet checked at 8 weeks of age and microchipped and we also prefer to fully vaccinate our pups before they leave for their new homes so would normally let our puppies go at 11 weeks of age but if booked in advance, we will let puppies go to their new home at 8 weeks of age after their first vaccination at the owners request as we realise that bonding with the new family is very important, BUT ONLY if we know the home is extremely experienced.  

Puppy leaves home with Kennel Club Registration document, Pedigree, Puppy advice sheets, contract of sale, worming record and vaccination record, CEA, MDR1, DM and CN DNA test results and microchipped with documentation.  We reserve the right to choose our puppy right up to the last minute before other puppies leave for their new homes, after all, we breed first and foremost for ourselves.      We do allow viewing of puppies when they are over 4 weeks of age but this is a viewing and we will NOT allow puppies to be handled at this age by visitors as we do not want to introduce infection to the litter, plus the Dam will still be feeding her puppies.  

Please be aware that our first concern is our dog’s welfare, both the puppies and the Dam.

Katie will be mated toward the end of 2024 – Hoping to use a blue merle dog we have in mind
